This dishwasher is not worth the MSRP it is listed at. There are competitive brands in this range that offer more solid construction and component quality. If you're buying it on sale, then it becomes more in the price range that reflects its true value. Lots of corner cutting here IMO. The racks are about as thin as they can be made without losing their function. The door is light. Probably too light IMO. Metal support brackets underneath serve their purpose surprisingly well given their construction. I think GE could have invested a few more $$, taken the retail up a bit and offered an appliance that feels more solid. The noise level is low and might be lower than rated. The first few washes were as good as the appliance this replaced. I just came off a high dollar competitive dishwasher that lasted three years. Thank goodness for warranties. Good luck with your appliance!

While we do miss the crazy quietness of our old Bosch dishwasher, this one does it's job very well. It cleans all of our dishes just fine and I don't recall having to rewash anything from running a cycle. Two great advantages this new machine has over our old Bosch is: 1.) I do not have a fine particulate filter to clean, which I had to do often and 2.) I don't have to fill this GE with dishwasher salt. That was another (and relatively expensive) requirement. Although the Bosch was much quieter, it was also much easier to program. This one, I don't see an "Off" switch anywhere when I want it powered off - it just stays on, wasting electricity.

The layout of the dishwasher is a little wonky as it is not ideal for loading. The bottom row slides off and doesn't pull out/in very easily. Design can use a lot of help. I use the dry booster and my dishes are still wet. I purchased this as it was the only model in stock that did not have a handle. It would not have been my first choice. On a good note it does get my dishes very clean without jet dry.

Very nice looking DW with contemporary style and recessed door handle. Delivery was quick, polite and efficient. Installer gave me a brief demonstration on how to use. Complete user manual is online. So far, the DW seems to be working fine. Is pretty quiet, too.

I had a GE Profile dishwasher for 15 years with not a single problem, I just wanted to update the color scheme; a mistake for sure. This is my second GE dishwasher in 8 months due to quality issues.

I don't understand all the positive reviews. I returned the first because it had a moldy smell. The second, doesn't dry the interior, now I see why it had a moldy smell. I used the power boost dry, left the door closed all night and it's still damp on the inside. My previous machine DIDN'T have a "power" dry and it was never wet after a cycle.
Also, no one mentions the wash times! My old unit was 10 years old so maybe the 4 hours to wash a normal load is the new thing but that's ridiculous.
I purchased this because of the reviews, now I see many of those reviews were promotion based. It's a shame when ge gives away the machine to up the review rating. I'm never buying from ge again.

This dishwasher functions fairly well. I have only a couple issues. The first is the poor insulation that came with it. My countertop heats much more than with my previous washer. The second is with the steam option. There is a lot of excess moisture that accumulates on top of the door where the controls are during the steam cycle. Other than that the remaining functions are perfectly acceptable.

I needed a dishwasher that had 6 in height x 4 in depth cutout in the back to accommodate copper pipes. This was the only dishwasher that gave me that along with everything else I hoped for, especially the 3rd rack. So far it's worked well, washes and dries adequately with a rinse aid. Relatively quiet, not silent but good enough. I do wish it had a stainless steel tub but for the price, I don't know if there's a better deal with the specifics I needed. Especially a dishwasher with it's slimmer depth.

We were disappointed in the lack of insulation with our new dishwasher, and the amount of noise it makes during operation, due to the plastic tub. It's also really easy to bump the controls on top of the door when opening and closing, so there's some excess beeping, though this is a minor complaint. The look of the unit itself is clean and attractive, and the dishes always come out clean. We love the third shelf for cooking spoons and large knives. We're hoping this unit doesn't have the same control board failure as our previous GE dishwasher, or it will be our last GE dishwasher.

Dishwasher seems to work just fine. We have only had it a few weeks so can't rate durability. We bought this to replace another manufacturer's dishwasher that broke down after about 6 weeks. As a result we shopped for a different brand.
We like the bottle washing feature as we frequently use refillable water bottles and this does a good job of cleaning them. We also like the third rack for utensils.

It does get our dishes/glassware very clean. Having the top, small flat pullout is helpful for small items that are otherwise difficult to place.
This dishwasher seems to hold a bit more than our previous GE. However, it isn't as quiet during a clean cycle as the stainless steel interior (guessing).

*My dishes came out spotless -Clean with no water spots!
*The Bottle Jets - I used this for Jars and water bottles and it does amazing!
*The Delay Hours - Up to 12 hour delay, by the hour! (My favorite feature!)

* Wash Zones: Options to Wash upper rack, and lower rack separately or together.

What I thought could have been better:
*Drying: Normal or High Options, sometimes Normal didn't dry at all. I couldn't figure out why it just didn't dry sometimes...
* Bottom Rack design: I couldn't figure out how to make my bigger pots and pans fit in the bottom tray.. Regular or smaller sized won't have an issue.
* I do wish the soap dispenser was higher up the door. You have to put shorter items in the front so the dispenser lid can open all the way.
*3rd rack at the very tip top. It just isn't handy in my opinion and kept me from being able to put taller water bottles or glasses in the glass rack. I ended up taking it out for more space! (I did use it for canning lids and that worked great)
All in all, I really like the dishwasher. It cleans the dishes REALLY well.

I've been using this dishwasher for about a month now and I really like how simple and easy to use it is. I think it does a great job cleaning dishes (even the tough, hard to clean dishes). I also like all of the different features it has, including the top tray for silverware. I would definitely recommend this dishwasher!

We've only used the dishwasher a few times, but it seems to clean our dishes well - even the ones with baked on food. So far so good!

This is an amazing dishwasher. I love that it has the sanitize cycle and dry boost. It just makes every thing seem so much cleaner when it's done. It is very simple to use and run. It is the perfect size for my family of 3. I would recommend this to everyone!!

We've been using the GE Top Control with Plastic Interior Dishwasher with Sanitize Cycle & Dry Boost 1-3x a day for several weeks. The last few dishwashers I've had, whether new or several years old, I've always checked each item for cleanliness before putting away. Inevitably, with these other dishwashers, a few items would go right back in for a second wash or after a second wash, set aside for a hand scrub. I just realized I have gained enough confidence in this GE dishwasher that I'm not checking at all - I'm just putting away. I usually select "normal" wash and "dry boost" and sometimes "wash temp boost" for perfectly clean, dry dishes. I've tried liquid detergent and detergent pacs/pods - both have worked great. I haven't bothered with loose powder or powder tabs. The machine is easy to use - the touch control panel is easy to understand (and wipe clean), although sometimes I have to push a touchpad a few times for it to awaken. The stainless front rarely appears dirty and also easily wipes clean. It's a cabinet depth installation which I appreciate because our dishwasher is in a tight space across from an island - no precious inches are wasted on a door or door handle protruding whatsoever. The utensil baskets' slots are plentiful and varied in size so there's a spot for everything including small chef's knives and my older silverware with thicker/wider handles.
My favorite feature is the third rack - it's perfect for shallow items - utensils, cookie cutters, condiment cups, kids food storage containers (some lids are better sideways on second shelf; they may not dry lying flat on the third). I used to lose a lot of real estate on the second shelf to small items, so I love this rack. You could easily remove the rack if you have larger items to put on the second shelf and need extra height.
There are other great features such as...
-Digital display countdown clock so you know how much time is left
-Adjustable second shelf - easily raise or lower the self's position (best done before loading) to accommodate extra room on bottom shelf (e.g. large pots) or second shelf (e.g. tall water bottles)
-Bottle jets (you need to select "bottle jets" for the cycle if you'd like to run them)
-Steam/Sani (will loosen baked on messes)
-Wash zone selector if you want to run a cycle with either just the 2nd or 3rd rack full
-Hard food disposer
-Water leak sensor
The downside:
-The first 10-20 washes there was what I can only describe as a strong "plastic-y" smell when opening the door for unloading. That has dissipated considerably.
-When a load is done, there is a loud tone that sounds like it could belong to a child's toy - looking at the manual, I should be able to turn it off.
-Noise level is the same as any other dishwasher I've had. Don't assume newer = quieter.
-For aesthetics, I wish the handle was a little less conspicuous.
-Doesn't come with UltraFresh vent system or Microban coating features as some newer GE models do - that would have been great, but no big deal.
Bottom line:
I get clean dishes, every time. I am very happy with this product.
